Your first evening under the stars

Start with curiosity, not a shopping list.

Choose a familiar outdoor place where you have permission to stay. Pick a comfortable time, check the weather, and bring a layer, a seat and a way to find your footing safely.

Make it a small outing

You do not need to identify everything. Choose one question: what catches your eye, what shapes can you trace, or how does the view differ from your last evening outside?

Keep a simple record

Write down the date, your location, the conditions and what you noticed. A rough sketch is enough. Use a sky guide to explore your questions afterward rather than turning your first outing into an exam.
